The Lampung Provincial Government continues to encourage increased exports of Robusta coffee through the strengthening of downstream programs. This was emphasized by Acting Provincial Secretary M. Firsada during a reception with representatives of the Directorate General for the Americas and Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, on June 14, 2025.
As one of the largest Robusta coffee-producing regions in Indonesia, Lampung has over 155,000 hectares of coffee plantations, with an annual production of approximately 108,000 tons. Its distinctive flavor and strong aroma make Lampung Robusta coffee highly competitive in the international market. By October 2024, the value of coffee exports from this province had reached USD 132.38 million.
Downstreaming efforts are not only focused on increasing the value of products but also include strengthening partnerships between farmers and industry, access to training, technological support, and financing. This program also receives support from global economic diplomacy, such as agricultural training for participants from 16 friendly nations held in several coffee-producing districts in Lampung.
With these various initiatives, Lampung aims to enhance its strategic position as a global center for the production and export of sustainable Robusta coffee.
